The Best Wedding Reception Venues in Brisbane and Surrounds

Your venue is the first decision. Your stationery is the first impression.

Before guests arrive, the invitation does. It sets the tone. Gets them excited. Tells them, before they've even walked through the door, what kind of day they're in for.

Here are the Brisbane (and surrounds) venues I keep coming back to, and the Arca paper aesthetic that belongs with each one.

The Calile Hotel, Fortitude Valley

Concrete. Cork floors. Vine-covered walls. The iconic pool. Palm-drenched. Brisbane's most sought-after wedding venue, entirely its own world.

The stationery suite that belongs here: our Sarakiniko Collection. Ivory stock, a modern serif, almond accents. Let the venue do the work.

Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA), South Bank

Soaring ceilings, a riverfront setting, and a sense of cultural weight that few venues carry. A GOMA wedding is for couples who care about design. The Watermall in particular: the water feature, the concrete, the trailing greenery from above.

The stationery suite that belongs here: something I haven't shown anyone yet. A folded menu, mirrored silver on the outside, white within, burgundy text. Designed for an upcoming project. Keep an eye out.

Howard Smith Wharves, CBD

Set beneath the Story Bridge and entirely itself. Exposed concrete, wharf structures, the river at your feet. A venue with genuine character.

The stationery suite that belongs here: our Sarakiniko Collection in ivory with blue accenting. Warm ivory, with a touch of blue to make it personal and set it apart.

Gabbinbar Homestead, Toowoomba

Tucked away in Toowoomba, an hour from Brisbane and a world away. Immersed in serene gardens, a wisteria walk, and rolling hills. The closest thing Queensland has to a European estate wedding.

The stationery suite that belongs here: a recent custom menu in deep burgundy stock, white ink. Warm and considered against the glass ceiling and lush gardens. Entirely right for the room.

Customs House, CBD

Heritage on the river. Corinthian columns, views of the Story Bridge. The kind of venue that feels significant the moment you step inside.

The stationery suite that belongs here: brown stock, white ink. A combination designed as a custom piece, and one I keep thinking about. The texture of the paper picks up the raw materiality of the space.

Spicers Balfour Hotel, New Farm

Intimate by design. For smaller weddings where every detail is felt, and nothing goes unnoticed.

The stationery suite that belongs here: our Vogue Collection. Ivory paper, paired with black accents. Quietly considered.

If you've found your venue, I'd love to help you build the suite that belongs with it, from invitations through to on the day.

With love, Lizzy and Arca paper ♡
